Taylor Swift And Calvin Harris Were Set Up By Ellie Goulding, Because They're Both Vertically Blessed

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have been romantically involved since March, and we’re totally happy for them — seriously Mazel Tov, you guys.

But before they got to the point where paparazzi could snap photos of them holding hands and kissing at a country concert, the question of how they met definitely crossed our minds. Besides the fact that they’re both rich, famous, talented and equally gorgeous, it didn’t seem like the two ran in quite the same circles. But, it turns out they have a friend in common, who had the good sense to realize they’d make beautiful (and tall) babies together, should their romance ever get that far.

“I did play matchmaker, that’s true,” singer Ellie Goulding told The Sun at the Glamour Awards on Tuesday. “Calvin is a really great mate and he’s so fantastic, and Taylor is such a cool person who I love. I thought, ‘They’re both really awesome and both really tall, they’ll be brilliant together.'”

It’s interesting that height was a factor in the match, since Swift’s pal Ed Sheeran just shut down the question of whether or not he ever tried to hook up with the pop star by explaining that while he “gets on really well with her” in a professional sense, she’s actually too tall for him.

“I feel like we look like cast members of ‘The Hobbit.’ She’s like, in the elven kingdom. She’s hanging out with Galadriel and stuff, and I’ve got hairy feet,” Sheeran said.

Just for reference, Swift is reportedly 5-foot-10, while Harris is thought to be 6-foot-5 — yep, vertically blessed, indeed.
